Sheldon Neeley is the incumbent Mayor of Flint, first elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023. A former Michigan State Representative, he is running for re-election to continue his work on infrastructure recovery, public safety, and economic development following the water crisis.
Karen Weaver served as Mayor of Flint from 2015 to 2019, gaining national attention during the Flint water crisis. A psychologist and longtime public servant, she is running again to restore trust in city leadership and address ongoing challenges in housing, education, and environmental justice.
Many Muslim and Arab American voters are leaning toward third-party candidates or not voting, feeling neither main candidate values their families' lives. Others are choosing between Harris and Trump.
