How to Vote

To vote in the Detroit City Council primaries, Michigan residents must be registered to vote by July 15, 2025. Voters can cast ballots in person at their assigned polling place on election day, August 5, 2025, or during the early voting period from July 26 to August 4, 2025. Michigan requires voters to present photo ID at the polls, such as a driver's license or state ID, or sign an affidavit if they do not have one.
