How to Vote

To vote in Maine, residents must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and registered to vote. Registration can be completed online, by mail, or in person at local town offices or the Secretary of State’s office. On Election Day, voters can cast ballots at their assigned polling place; early voting is available at designated locations, and absentee ballots can be requested without excuse. voters must present identification if registering for the first time by mail, but ID is not required to vote if already registered.
