To vote in the Maine gubernatorial primary, registered voters must be enrolled in either the Democratic or Republican party, as Maine uses a closed primary system. Voters can cast their ballots in person on Election Day, June 13, 2028, during early voting from May 30 to June 10, or by requesting an absentee ballot, which must be returned by close of polls on Election Day. Voters must present a valid ID if voting for the first time in a federal election in Maine, or if required by local officials; acceptable IDs include a Maine driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID.
