How to Vote

To vote in Maine, residents must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old by Election Day, and registered to vote. Registration can be completed online, by mail, or in person at local town offices or the Maine Secretary of State’s office. Voters may cast ballots in person on Election Day or request an absentee ballot by mail; photo ID is not required to vote, but first-time voters who registered by mail may need to show identification.
