To vote in Maine, residents must first register to vote, which can be done online, by mail, or in person at their town or city clerk’s office. On Election Day, voters can cast ballots at their assigned polling place, and Maine also offers no-excuse early voting beginning two weeks prior to Election Day. Voters must present identification if registering for the first time by mail, but photo ID is not required to vote if already registered.
