To vote in Maine, residents must register by October 14, 2026, either online, by mail, or in person at their local town office. Early voting begins October 21 and runs through October 31, 2026, at designated municipal polling places; on Election Day, polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Voters must present identification if registering for the first time or if their registration is incomplete, but photo ID is not required to vote a regular ballot.
