How to Vote

To vote in Illinois, you must register by October 8, 2026, either online via the Illinois State Board of Elections website, by mail, or in person at your local election office. On Election Day or during early voting (October 28–November 2, 2026), you can vote at your designated polling place; bring a valid ID if you are a first-time voter who registered by mail, though ID is not required for most voters. Early voting is available at select locations starting October 28, and vote-by-mail ballots must be requested by November 1 and postmarked by Election Day.
