The Hawaii County Council District 6 Election is being held on August 13, 2026, to elect one representative to the Hawaii County Council. District 6 covers parts of East Hawaii, including areas in and around Hilo. Voters will choose a council member to serve a four-year term responsible for local legislation, budgeting, and community services.

Voters will choose a council member to serve a four-year term responsible for local legislation, budgeting, and community services.
To vote in Hawaii, residents must be U.S. citizens, Hawaii residents, and at least 18 years old by Election Day. Voters can register online, by mail, or in person at their county clerk’s office. Registered voters will receive a mail-in ballot automatically; they may return it by mail, drop it at a designated voter service center, or vote in person during early voting or on Election Day. Voters must provide identification if registering for the first time by mail, but photo ID is not required to vote in person.
