To vote in West Virginia, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of West Virginia, and at least 18 years old by Election Day. Register online at the West Virginia Secretary of State’s website, by mail, or in person at your county clerk’s office by the April 21 deadline. On Election Day or during early voting (April 22–May 8), present a valid ID such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID; if you lack ID, you may vote a provisional ballot after signing an affidavit of identity.
