Washington conducts elections primarily by mail. All active registered voters will receive a ballot by mail automatically starting July 18, 2026. Voters must sign and date the return envelope; ballots must be postmarked by August 4, 2026, or deposited in an official drop box by 8:00 PM on election day. No voter ID is required to vote by mail, but first-time voters who registered by mail may need to provide identification if voting in person at a voting center.
