How to Vote

Voters in Virginia can register online through the Virginia Department of Elections website, by mail, or in person at their local voter registration office. To vote, registered voters may cast ballots in person on Election Day at their assigned polling place, during the early voting period, or by requesting an absentee ballot for mail-in voting. Virginia requires voters to show acceptable photo ID when voting in person.
