How to Vote

Vermont residents can register to vote online through the Secretary of State’s website, by mail, or in person at their town clerk’s office up to and including Election Day. Early voting begins 25 days before the election and ends the day before; voters may cast ballots at designated early voting locations or request an absentee ballot by contacting their town clerk. Voters must provide identification if registering for the first time by mail, but no ID is required to vote in person for those already registered.
