How to Vote

To vote in the Houston mayoral election, Texas residents must be registered to vote by October 13, 2027. Voters can register online through the Texas Secretary of State’s website, by mail, or in person at their county voter registrar’s office. Acceptable photo IDs include a Texas driver license, Texas election identification certificate, Texas personal identification card, Texas handgun license, U.S. military ID, U.S. citizenship certificate, or U.S. passport. Early voting runs from October 23 to October 31, 2027, with Election Day voting on November 2, 2027, at designated polling locations.
