To vote in Tennessee, voters must register by October 6, 2026, either online via the Secretary of State’s website, by mail, or in person at a county election commission office. On Election Day or during early voting (October 16–November 2), voters must present a valid federal or Tennessee state ID with photo, such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID; student IDs are not accepted. Early voting is available at designated locations in each county, and absentee ballots by mail are available for eligible voters who meet specific criteria such as age, disability, or out-of-county residence.
