How to Vote

To vote in the 2028 Rapid City Mayor Election, residents must be registered to vote in South Dakota by the registration deadline of March 12, 2028. Voters can cast ballots in person on Election Day at their assigned polling place, during the early voting period from March 4 to April 10, 2028, or by requesting an absentee ballot. South Dakota requires voters to show a valid photo ID when voting in person, such as a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or tribal ID; voters without ID may sign an affidavit and vote a provisional ballot.
