To vote in South Dakota, voters must register by May 13, 2028, either online, by mail, or in person at their county auditor's office. On Election Day, June 6, 2028, voters can cast ballots at their assigned polling place from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT; early voting is available from May 20 to June 4, 2028, at county auditor offices or satellite locations. Voters must show a valid photo ID, such as a South Dakota driver's license, passport, or tribal ID, or sign an affidavit if they lack ID.
