How to Vote

To vote in South Dakota, residents must register by October 18, 2028, either online, by mail, or in person at their county auditor's office. Voters can cast ballots in person on Election Day, during the early voting period from September 20 to November 7, 2028, or by absentee ballot, which must be requested by November 4 and received by close of polls on Election Day. Valid photo ID is required at the polls.
