To vote in South Dakota, residents must register by October 20, 2028, either online, by mail, or in person at their county auditor's office. On Election Day, voters can cast ballots at their designated polling place from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT, or vote early in person from October 21 to November 4, 2028. Voters must show a valid photo ID, such as a South Dakota driver's license, passport, or tribal identification, to cast a ballot.
