To vote in South Dakota, residents must register by May 6, 2028, either online, by mail, or in person at their county auditor's office. Early voting begins May 18, 2028, and runs through June 4, 2028, at designated county voting centers; on Election Day, voters can cast ballots at their assigned polling place with a valid photo ID.
