To vote in South Dakota, residents must register by October 24, 2026, either online via the Secretary of State's website, by mail, or in person at their county auditor's office. Early voting begins September 21, 2026, and runs through November 2, 2026, at designated county locations. On Election Day, polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM CT, and voters must present a valid photo ID such as a South Dakota driver's license, passport, or tribal ID.
