To vote in Rhode Island, residents must register by October 8, 2026, either online through the Secretary of State's website, by mail, or in person at their local board of canvassers. On Election Day, polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM; voters must present a valid photo ID such as a Rhode Island driver's license, state ID, or U.S. passport, or sign an affidavit if they lack ID. Early voting begins October 16 and runs through November 1 at designated locations across the city.
