To vote in New Mexico, residents must register by January 10, 2026, either online via the NM Secretary of State’s voter portal, by mail, or in person at county clerk offices. On Election Day, voters can cast ballots at assigned polling places from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; early voting is available from January 20 to February 1 at designated sites, and all registered voters may request an absentee ballot without excuse. Valid photo ID is required for first-time voters who registered by mail and did not provide ID verification; otherwise, ID is not required to vote in person.
