How to Vote

To vote in the New Mexico State Primary Election, registered voters must be affiliated with either the Democratic or Republican party to participate in that party's primary, as New Mexico has closed primaries. Voters can register online, by mail, or in person at their county clerk's office, with registration closing on May 6, 2026. On Election Day, polls are open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; voters must present a valid form of identification, such as a driver’s license, state ID, tribal ID, or other government-issued photo ID, or provide alternative documentation if they lack photo ID.
