To vote in the Newark City Council Election, New Jersey residents must be registered to vote by April 19, 2028. Voters can cast ballots in person on Election Day at their assigned polling place, during the early voting period from April 27 to May 5, 2028, or by requesting a vote-by-mail ballot, which must be applied for by May 1, 2028, and received by the county board of elections no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
