The Minneapolis City Council Election on November 4, 2025, will determine the composition of the city's 13-member legislative body responsible for setting local policy, approving the budget, and overseeing city departments. Voters in each of Minneapolis's 13 wards will elect one council member to serve a four-year term beginning in January 2026.

How to Vote

To vote in Minneapolis, registered voters can cast ballots in person on Election Day at their assigned polling place, vote early in person at designated city voting centers from September 20 through November 3, or request and submit an absentee ballot by mail. Voters must be registered by October 15, 2025, and while Minnesota does not require voter identification for most voters, first-time voters who registered by mail may need to show proof of residence.
