How to Vote

To vote in Minneapolis, residents must be registered by October 14, 2025. Voters can register online, by mail, or in person at their county election office. On Election Day, polling places are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Acceptable forms of ID include a Minnesota driver's license, state ID, tribal ID, or a utility bill with name and address if voting in person without prior registration.

Jacob Frey is the incumbent mayor of Minneapolis, first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2021. He previously served as a Minneapolis City Council member and worked as an attorney focusing on civil rights and housing justice. Frey is running for a third term to continue his work on public safety reform, affordable housing, and climate resilience.
